The Sustainable Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology conference will take place on June 13 to June 17, 2010 at the campus of the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden. The scientific community and industry experts will also debate about new ammonia chiller and evaporator technologies.
The conference will focus on all possible aspects within the area of sustainable refrigeration and heat pump technology. Natural refrigerants ammonia and CO2 will be a main topic in the discussions and presentations. The conference is divided in two events:
  • IIR/Eurotherm Sustainable Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology Conference June 13 ‐ 16
  • 2nd IIR Workshop on Refrigerant Charge Reduction in Refrigeration Systems June 16 – 17
2nd IIR Workshop on Refrigerant Charge Reduction

The last day of the conference will be co-arranged with the 2nd IIR Workshop on Refrigerant Charge Reduction in Refrigerating Systems, a two-day (June 16 - 17) meeting specially focused on methods on reducing charge in refrigeration systems. This second part of the event has a special ammonia session on 17 June in the morning:
  • R. Christensen, Alfa Laval: Low charge flooded ammonia evaporator with separator vessel
  • L. Cecchinato, University Padova: "Design and experimental analysis of a water chiller using ammonia as refrigerant"
  • D. Clodic, Mines‐ ParisTech: "RCR Keynote 2: Direct and indirect emissions: comparison of Commercial refrigeration and Mobile air conditioning emission impacts"
Ammonia-related presentations 14-16 June:
  • A. Lindborg, Ammonia Partnership: "Probability in ammonia refrigeration risk assessment for ammonia refrigeration"
  • J. Rogstam, IUC: "Field measurements and comparison of supermarket refrigeration systems"
  • S. K. Sharma, India: "Performance of ammonia based ejection refrigeration system: a naturally green approach"
Other presentations will focus on latest developments in commercial refrigeration, ice rinks, heat pumps in industrial drying processes and more.

Garden City Ammonia Program, GCAP LLC, will have an instructor at this work shop. We believe that low charge ammonia systems are in the furture of our industy. With our newest expansion of the CO2- Brine system going in at our hands-on lab in Garden City, Kansas, will be the first in the United States as an hands on training unit. With the international partnership between GCAP LLC & MAYEKAWA, these conference will pave the roads to sucess. Look forward seeing you at this conference in Stockhom, Sweden.
