Since October 2009, THENATURALVOICE is the first statement supported by HVAC&R organisations around the world that points to the climate friendly potential of natural refrigerants. Counting already 75 supporters, THENATURALVOICE expects to reach 100 signatories early next year.
With suppliers, end-users, associations, and research organisations continuously joining THENATURALVOICE, there is a growing momentum to recognise the potential of natural refrigerants such as ammonia by the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC&R) industry.
Just three months after the launch of the initiative, 75 organisations have signed the statement, among them eurammon, Parker, “Refrigerants, Naturally!”, GEA, Axima Refrigeration and the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration. The signatories of THENATURALVOICE recall that natural refrigerants “are a technically viable, safe, and efficient option for refrigeration, heating and cooling applications” and “stand ready to actively support natural refrigerants as a global safe and sustainable alternative to fluorinated gases.
Reaching out to policy makers worldwide
This unprecedented industry gathering to support natural refrigerants comes at a time when all climate negotiators are looking for effective means to achieve deep cuts against rising emissions.
“We will ensure that THENATURALVOICE is heard worldwide by policy makers negotiating the future implementation of the Montreal Protocol and the UNFCCC”, says Christianna Papazahariou, spokesperson of the initiative.
For the message to effectively reach policy makers worldwide, the statement is now also available in Russian, Spanish and Japanese.
