The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) and the Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) have announced the 9th IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Working Fluids. The conference will be held in Sydney in April 2010. Now, AIRAH has made the final call for papers.

The 9th IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference focusing on “natural refrigerants – real alternatives”, to be held in Sydney on 12-14 April 2010, will bring together the world’s HVAC&R experts to explore the latest research results and advances related to the use of natural refrigerants, including ammonia in refrigeration and more. The organisation committee is calling for papers now and the deadline of submission for the papers is 27 July.

Main topic areas will include:

• Natural primary refrigerants
• Secondary coolants and ice slurries
• Sorption systems
• Non-conventional refrigeration systems
• Heat transfer and fluid flow
• Energy use and energy efficiency of natural working fluid systems

Next steps

The scientific committee and peer review will evaluate the papers, which should be sent latest 27 July in the form of two-page abstracts. The provisional acceptance of abstracts and the deadline for receiving full papers is due on 10 August 2009 and 12 October 2009 respectively.
