The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) and Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) have made the first call for papers for the 9th IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Working Fluids, to be held in Sydney on 12-14 April 2010. A further two calls are to follow in May and July.

The 9th IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference: “natural refrigerants – real alternatives” will bring together the world’s experts in the field of non-chemical working fluids to explore the latest research results and advances related to the use of natural refrigerants including ammonia.

The organisers are now accepting two-page paper abstracts. The deadline for submission of two-page abstracts for assessment by the scientific committee and peer review is 27 July 2009, with the provisional acceptance of abstracts and the deadline for receiving full papers due on 10 August 2009 and 12 October 2009 respectively.

Main topic areas

Main topic areas will include:
  • Natural primary refrigerants
  • Secondary coolants and ice slurries
  • Sorption systems
  • Non conventional refrigeration systems
  • Heat transfer and fluid flow
  • Energy use and energy efficiency of natural working fluid systems
